Summary:

The Materials Supervisor is a critical role within USA Compression, responsible for managing the logistics and coordination of all inventory, spare parts, supplies, and tools. In doing so, the Materials Manager will adequately support the field material representatives and services teams in providing a high-quality level of service to the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow all safety and environmental policies

  • Coordinate and schedules routine inventory counts and internal audits

  • Provide proactive communication at the field level to customers and employees

  • Advise Area Service Managers of inventory status in area, as needed

  • Manage general housekeeping duties in warehouse, field storage, and office areas

  • Assist in development of budget and cost control

  • Participate in safety training program and contribute to continuous improvement of safety guidelines

  • Act as company liaison to other outside vendors, as required

  • Assist Sr Materials Manager with execution of corporate strategies and initiatives

  • Responsible for hiring, retention, development, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and training of the regional materials team

  • Establish key metrics to monitor inventory management performance and identify areas of improvement

  • Assists with routing and coding of invoices

  • Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Sr Manager.

  • Full-time salary position.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of 8 or more years relevant work experience

  • Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression

  • Communicates a “can do” attitude and positive outlook, minimizing negative behaviors

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Ability to ensure ethical behavior in all dealings with suppliers

  • Excellent numerical perception

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective time management

  • Demonstrates good judgment

  • Demonstrates a strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining calm and controlled

  • Maintains direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work

  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and senior management including training, procedures, instructions, etc.

  • Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S

Working Conditions:

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk on uneven and varied terrain, climb ladders and stairs; and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch and crawl depending on the task requirements.

  • Exposure to extremes in temperature and weather conditions depending upon assigned location.

  • Some exposure to high noise levels that require ear protection, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and materials.
