IMPORTANT – BID PROCESS CHANGE
The bid application is now available through Salesforce. The Google form is no longer being used. Once the link is clicked on you will be directed to the Bid post in Salesforce. To apply, click on “Apply”. You will then be directed to either create a profile or log into current profile and complete the application. Check for an existing profile before creating a new one to avoid duplicates.
When completing the application, your current experience with CCS and location must be entered in the “Employment” section.
Examples of work:
Prepares a school safety plan, trains staff in emergency response crisis management and active shooter safety; implements safety and security procedures; facilitates monthly emergency drills; Ensures that security measures comply with U.S. Department of Homeland Security mandates; Advises school staff, students, and parents regarding procedures for filing complaints with the Columbus Division of Police; Monitors student activity on social media, at bus stops and community sites for behaviors identified as problematic to ensure student safety; Assists administrators with child custody disputes, irate parents and unruly students; Identifies and controls the
presence of unauthorized individuals on school property; Responds to reports of students not reporting to or disappearing from school; Investigates reports of gang/drug activity, weapons, assault, bullying, sexual harassment, theft, vandalism, arson, and breaking and entering of school facilities; Investigates reports of issues with access to school facilities; Testifies in court hearings; Communicates with school principals and staff, law enforcement agencies, and social service agency staff; Transports students and District employees home or to
other locations when necessary; Provides crowd control and advises students on appropriate behavior during school hours and school events; Writes reports and memos regarding investigations and incidents; interviews witnesses and victims of incidents; maintains daily activity logs; inspects and photographs incident scenes; Provides software support to maintain LobbyGuard software and the District’s mass communication system; May assist the Safety and Security Compliance Investigator in investigations and in coordinating mandated School Safety Plans.
REQUIREMENT: Alarm Monitors must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
- - - FLOATER POSITION - DAILY WORK LOCATION WILL BE BASED ON THE OPERATIONAL NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT AS DETERMINED BY SAFETY AND SECURITY LEADERSHIP. THIS MEANS YOUR WORK LOCATION MAY CHANGE FREQUENTLY, EVEN DAY-TO-DAY. Your recorded location is 17th Avenue, but you WILL NOT report there unless directed to do so by Department Leadership. - - -

No Bargaining Unit Members new to a position, successful job bidding applicant, or transfer applicant under the above procedures may submit a job bid or transfer application until the lapse of one (1) year from the date of employment or reassignment, except where such reassignment was a result of the closing or announced closing of a school. The Board, after consultation with the Union President and Field Representative or other designees, may only reject an applicant for a promotional or transfer opportunity if within the 12 months immediately prior to the posting the applicant has either received a suspension of one or more days which has not been successfully overturned or has been absent on 10 or more occurrences (consecutive days of absence shall be considered one occurrence). An applicant may not be rejected because of attendance if the applicant has an accumulated sick leave balance equal to five (5) or more days per year of service with the Columbus City Schools. The position shall be awarded to the applicant with the highest job classification seniority who is not rejected for the reasons described in this section.
