TITLE: MATRICULATION COACH – PART TIME
JOB STATUS: FLSA NON-EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
DEPARTMENT: ACADEMICS
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The position is responsible to create, implement, and support the transition of middle school students to high school, matriculation of high school students grades 9 – 12, and graduation of 12th grade students through traditional and non-traditional pathways
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborate with Admin, Teachers, Counselors, and Support Services to provide processes, procedures, and building level policies that improve matriculation rates, grades 9 – 12 and Graduation rate at the 12th grade
- Lead matriculation teams comprised of WRHS Admin, Teachers, Counselors, Support Service and outside agencies in monthly meetings
- Create and supervise transition activities, information, and support related to student matriculation 9th through 12th grade year
- Collaborate with Middle School Counselors to assist with eighth grade students to communicate how to earn seals to graduation
- Collaborate with Middle School Counselors and SEL Coordinator for improved 8th to 9th grade transitions
- Prepare and provide bimonthly summary updates to the Principal and the BLT
- Collaborate with Matriculation Teams in working with students to complete graduation requirements
- Collaborate with Matriculation Teams to prepare students to take advantage of multiple graduation pathways and communicate how to earn seals towards graduation
- Support Tier 3 students needing intensive interventions for matriculation/graduation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess Valid Ohio Teacher 7-12 license or certificate.
- Secondary Education license or certificate preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work with students of all ability levels and backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with staff and community.
- Ability to provide a supportive role to administration and succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to motivate, excite and engage students and parents.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel for purposes of tracking data.
- Demonstrated success in working with low performing students.
- Experience with tracking data and making adjustments to interventions based on data and feedback.
- Ability to inspire and work comfortably with high school students
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Tools/Equipment Use: Desktop PC with keyboard and mouse, laptop, scanner, calculator, software, desk, and adjustable chair.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching
- Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 10 pounds)
- Environment: Works in office setting; may require occasional irregular hours and/or prolonged hours.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
- Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.
