    TITLE: Receptionist - Jerome HS
    JOB STATUS: FLSA Overtime Eligible
    REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
    DEPARTMENT: Academics and Student Learning
    PAY RANGE: Four (4)


    POSITION SUMMARY: To contribute to effective school-public relations by prompt and courteous handling of all inquiries and visitors.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
    • A knowledge of good telephone communications.
    • A reasonable skill in typing, filing, and operation of common office equipment.
    • A courteous and pleasing personality.
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Greets all visitors, students and teachers courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs or escorts them to the proper person.
    • Answers office telephone and responds appropriately to requests for information.
    • Organizes diplomas for graduation/records and monitors all graduation assignments.
    • Coordinates the efforts of the student office workers.
    • Oversees students in clinic when nurse is not present.
    • Copies and organizes materials for office staff.
    • Receives and routes mail to appropriate person.
    • Files materials such as student records.
    • Organizes and distributes interim reports (4 times a year).
    • Processes materials for bulk mailing, including folding, labeling, etc.
    • Maintains lost and found box.
    • Facilitates student photo I.D. cards and yearbook pictures.
    • Ensures the safety of students.
    • Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
    • Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
    • Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
    • Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings.
    • Understands the legal responsibility to help instill in students the belief in, and practice of, ethical principles and democratic values.
    • Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.


    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 211 days (183 work days and 8 paid holidays 8 hours per day, excluding lunch. Salary as provided by Negotiated Agreement. Work year to be established by the Board.

    SALARY: $21.49/HR. - $23.75/HR.
