Position Summary

The operating room (OR) manager oversees daily operations of a multi-specialty surgical department, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory readiness, and quality patient outcomes. The OR manager acts as a liaison between surgeons and anesthesia providers and provides leadership and accountability for licensed and non-licensed personnel in the operating rooms and sterile processing department.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire, orient, schedule and assign work duties.
  • Coach, counsel and implement appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Evaluate patient care outcomes utilizing Quality Improvement process.
  • Develop, review, and enforce policy and procedure, and standards of practice.
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of operational and capital budgets.

Requirements

  • Current Ohio R.N. License
  • BSN Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of recent surgery experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Current BLS
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, physicians, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Must possess analytical abilities and sound patient care knowledge necessary to support provision of all aspects of patient care.
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
